EM: Did you attend art school? What are your thoughts on art school, do you feel it creates limits to one's expression?

KS: No I did not…nothing negative about art school. LIMITS-that’s for the artist to decide. It’s really up to the individual.

EM: What are your thoughts on the issue of street art verse fine art. Personally I'm against categorization, but it seems inevitable that the issue exists. In your opinion what is street art? To you does it even exist?

KS: "Street ART"? is exactly that. Fine Art is another story Blue Chip Jip shit. In praise of dead art/artist. Where do I fit in? I'm thinking I'm walking a fine line. However I'm not a STREET artist.

EM: Well said. However what are your thoughts in regards to the growing interest from corporate America in embracing Street Art…

KS: Again with the Street art? Damn can’t shake you. And how can you NOT embrace something with the right sentiment…support your local assassin.

EM: You're noted for your interpretations of Comic book icons. Tell us your first incident in doing this sort of art. And second is there some sort of underlying message you have in re-introducing these characters in different context?

KS: MY visual samplings of heroes and villains began long ago, My first time (on canvas) was a Iron Man/Punisher in 1991. However I've always been connected to the ICONOGRAPHY of these heroes...like Greek Mythology. And yes there is a huge message in MY work. I love making FACTS FROM FICTION, This is MY form of expression, MY language, MY life.

EM: So what is it ideally that you want someone to take away from looking at your art?

KS: I’m not looking to get a reaction from others, I’m just trying to get a reaction out of myself.

EM: A few months back, you made the Phase02 Hulk figure and there seems to be a plethora of toy projects out there. Some say the toys are our modern takes of sculpture. Do you share the sentiment somewhat?

KS: I'm bored of most of them. I've have my share of projects on plastic and I value them as art, new historical artifacts.
