Cash Audio is not your regular rock and roll band, but then again what is real rock and roll these days, as music genres seem to continuously blur like nobody's business. But really for all the racket and full sound that these duo put out, what you get is all American rock with punk rock edge.

Cash Audio is John Humphrey and Scott Giampino, and as you guessed it a two-piece guitar and drums band that plays their instruments with menace and skill. Hailing from the windy city of Chicago, Cash Audio has virtually seen everything and has been almost everywhere.

"The Orange Sessions" is a brand new 8-song offering recorded in typical Cash Audio fashion, all analog style. The vinyl album contains 7 tracks whereas the CD has 13 which includes 4 old cuts from their previous 7 inch double release "Letter to Stax" in addition to an interview.

Their previous album "Green Bullet" through Touch and Go records was pure rawk. One track off that album entitled "Who Killed the Blues?" was actually a commentary of the death of Rock, as Rock is the child of Blues. Commercialization of Rock, becoming a commodity with its free spirit unabashedly paraded through the top 40 radio hit lists. Rock has been, in the words of Cash Audio, co-opted and has become very much part of the establishment of which it originally revoked. Keenly aware of its traditions and history, Cash Audio retains the message and realism upon which Rock was founded.

On their upcoming release, a track entitled "Chicken Heart" brings good times of Fat Albert and the gang. Inspired by Clarence Samuel's "Chicken Hearted Woman," its guitar riffs, hard pounding drums, with howling soul melodies on the rye that would even make James Brown boogie on down, Cash Audio delivers like never before.

"The Orange Sessions" off of Orange will be released on March 6.

Oh and for those in the know, John and Scott will no longer be cooking bacon on stage.
